“Watch and pray so that you will not fall into temptation. The spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak.”
Being tempted isn’t a sin. It’s falling into the action the temptation invites that gets us into trouble. Temptation isn’t a sin; it’s a call to battle. When we’re tempted to fall back into our old hurts, hang-ups and habits, we need to confront Satan as emphatically as Jesus did in Matthew 4:10: “Away from me, Satan! For it is written: ‘Worship the Lord your God, and serve him only.’”
Join us on Friday, June 19 for our Relapse Lesson when we will hear that CR Principle 7 – Reserve a daily time with God for self-examination, Bible reading and prayer in order to know God and his will for my life and to gain the power to follow his will – is our best defense against reverting back to our old ways. If we work this principle daily, relying on God’s power, it will not only help us grow in him but will prevent our relapse.
Our weekly schedule:
6pm – dinner
7pm – large group (in the Chapel)
8pm – small open share groups (issue & gender specific)
9pm – dessert & coffee/Solid Rock Café
See you on the 19th!
