Friday, January, 25, 2019 – Testimony

“For His unfailing love for those who fear Him is as great as theheight of the heavens above the earth.  He has removed our rebellious acts as far away from us as the east is from the west.”

Psalm 103:10-12

On Friday evening, January 25, we will hear from Suzanne, a CR participant who struggled with codependency and self-image issues much of her life.  A codependent can be defined as someone who struggles with the compulsion to rescue and take care of others, has difficulty setting boundaries, and often does not recognize his or her own worth.  Please join us on the 25th and learn how God used Celebrate Recovery to move Suzanne from a place of fear to a growing relationship and trust in God with every detail of her life and the lives of those she loves.

“I know the plans I have for you,’ declares the Lord, ‘plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”

Jeremiah 29:11

On Friday evening, December 28, we will hear another encouraging CR testimony from one of our CR “forever family” members.  He will share the story of his life and how God has brought about tremendous growth and change through the tools provided at Celebrate Recovery.  God has a plan for each of us.  When we first enter recovery, our lives are like a puzzle with pieces scattered randomly.  We don’t know where to begin , but God does, and he puts us back together, placing each piece where it belongs. We hope and pray we will see you on Friday the 28th and that you and God will begin to write your recovery story in the upcoming New Year.

Friday, December 14th, 2018 — Morals Lesson

“Let us examine our ways and test them, and let us return to the Lord.”

Lamentations 3:40

We can’t put our faults behind us until we’ve faced them.  We need to focus on both the positives and the negatives of our past.  Join us for our Friday, December 14 meeting when we will share the Moral Lesson   Moral at its root simply means “honest.”  CR uses a lot of acrostics.  To make a Moral Inventory, we need to do the following five things:

M ake time

O pen ourselves up

R ely on God

A nalyze our past honestly

L ist

We hope to see you at a meeting soon!!

Friday, November 9th, 2018 – Potluck and Testimony

“I know the plans I have for you,’ declares the Lord, ‘plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”  Jeremiah 29:11

On Friday evening, November 9, we will enjoy a wonderful potluck dinner at 6pm and be privileged to hear another encouraging CR testimony at 7pm.  God has a plan and story for each of us.  It’s a story that was written long before the foundations of the earth.  It unfolds as God’s grace brightens each new morning.  When we first enter recovery, our lives are like a puzzle with pieces scattered randomly.  We don’t know where to begin , but God does, and he puts us back together, placing each piece where it belongs. We hope and pray we will see you at a meeting soon so you and God can begin to write YOUR recovery story!

Friday, November 2nd, 2018; “Turn” Lesson

“If you declare with your lips, ‘Jesus is Lord,’ and believe in your heart that God

raised him from the dead, you will be saved.”

Romans 10:9

In Celebrate Recovery Principle 3 we make the one-time, permanent decision to turn over our lives to the care of God – the most important decision we’ll ever make.  Our choice, not chance, determines our destiny.  That decision requires only putting our faith into action.  Faith is simply taking God at his word.  For some people that seems too simple, but it isn’t.  Our salvation depends much more on God’s love for us than on our love for him.

We hope you’ll join us on Friday, November 2 for our TURN Lesson when we will learn how to TURN our life over to the one and only Higher Power, Jesus!  We look forward to seeing you then!!

Weekly Friday Evening Schedule:

6:00pm – dinner

7:00pm – large group meeting

8:00pm – small open share group meetings (gender & issue specific)

9:00pm – Solid Rock Café (dessert & coffee fellowship)

Friday, October 19, 2018 – Step Two

“It is God who works in you to will and to act according to his good purpose.”
Philippians 2:13

Step Two of the Christ-centered 12 steps states, “We came to believe that a power greater than ourselves could restore us to sanity.” Insanity in this context is “doing the same thing over and over again, expecting a different result each time.” Sanity, on the other hand, may be defined as “wholeness of mind; making decisions based on the truth.” Jesus is the only Higher Power who offers the truth, the way, the life and the power!

We hope you will join us on Friday, October 19 when the CR Sanity Lesson will be shared. We look forward to seeing you then!

“Dear children, let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth.”
