Friday, June 7th, 2019 – Lesson on Daily Habits

“Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’”
Matthew 22:37-39

We hope to see you on Friday evening, June 7, when we will share the CR Daily Inventory lesson and concentrate on Principle 7: Reserve a daily time with God for self-examination, Bible reading and prayer in order to know God and his will for my life and to gain the power to follow his will. We will learn what it means to begin the journey of applying what we’ve discovered in the first six principles, and live each day humbly – in reality, not in denial. It is time to take action – positive action – instead of being stuck in a cycle of constant reaction.

Weekly Friday Evening Schedule:
6:00pm – dinner
7:00pm – large group meeting
8:00pm – small open share group meetings (gender & issue specific)
9:00pm – Solid Rock Café (dessert & coffee fellowship)

Friday, May 31st, 2019 – Picnic!

HAPPY ARE THOSE WHO CELEBRATE RECOVERY!

We hope you will join us on Friday evening, May 31, when we will have our Annual CR BBQ Picnic on the grounds of First Free’s “Bigg House.” There will be hamburgers, hot dogs, brats and a variety of side dishes and desserts. There will also be yard games for everyone to enjoy. We will spend the evening in celebration of our individual recoveries and in fellowship with our wonderful CR family. Our participants are invited to bring their family members and friends.

It will be a wonderful night of yummy food and fun and we would love to meet you there. See you on the 31st!

Our usual weekly Friday evening schedule will be adjusted for this special evening; however, we will begin at 6:00pm as usual and run until the fun is done!

Friday, May 24th, 2019 – Crossroads

“If you think you are standing firm, be careful that you don’t fall!”.
I Corinthians 10:12

We have reached a pivotal moment in our CR curriculum year and will share the Crossroads Lesson on Friday evening, May 24. This is not a place to stop and rest on our past accomplishments. We need to thank God for getting us this far on our road to recovery; to praise him for the many victories over our hurts, hang-ups and habits that we’ve already seen in working the first six principles; and to continue working the last two principles with the same devotion and enthusiasm that got us to this point in our recoveries.

We hope you will join us on the 24th when we will begin our CR Principle Seven work. We look forward to meeting you and seeing you at a meeting soon!

Weekly Friday Evening Schedule:

7:00pm – large group meeting
8:00pm – small open share group meetings (gender & issue specific)

Friday, May 17th, 2019 – Testimony

“For His unfailing love for those who fear Him is as great as the height of the heavens above the earth.  He has removed our rebellious acts as far away from us as the east is from the west.”

Psalm 103; 10-12

On Friday evening, April 17, we will hear another amazing Celebrate Recovery testimony – this time from a mother and daughter.  Everyone has a story and there is nothing more encouraging than a recovery story filled with hope.  We at CR are blessed to hear stories of participants every other week.  God created you for relationship with Him and He has a wonderful purpose for your life.  Please join us at a meeting soon to discover or perhaps rediscover all that He has planned for your life and maybe one day you, too, will share your CR testimony with all of us.

Friday, May 12th, 2019 – Grace

“My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness. Therefore, I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses. For when I am weak, then I am strong. ”
2 Corinthians 12:9-10

Celebrate Recovery is built on and centered in Christ’s grace and love for each of us. Grace is a gift. It can’t be bought but is freely given by God to us. When we offer (give) our amends and expect nothing back, we are giving a gift to those whom we’ve hurt.

We hope you will join us on Friday evening, May 10 when one of our participants will share the CR Grace Lesson which completes our CR Principle Six work. We look forward to meeting you and seeing you at a meeting soon!

Weekly Friday Evening Schedule:
6:00pm – dinner
7:00pm – large group meeting
8:00pm – small open share group meetings (gender & issue specific)
9:00pm – Solid Rock Café (dessert & coffee fellowship)

Friday, April 26th, 2019 – Forgiveness

“There is no difference between Jew and Gentile, for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and all are justified freely by His grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus.”

Romans 3:22b-23

In recovery we can put aside our masks once and for all and allow people to get to know the “real us.” We do that by completing CR Principle Six: Evaluate all my relationships. Offer forgiveness to those who have hurt me and make amends for harm I’ve done to others, except when to do so would harm them or others. Forgiveness is clearly God’s prescription for the broken. No matter how dreadful the offense or abuse, along the path to healing lies forgiveness.

We hope you will join us on Friday evening, April 26 when one of our participants will share the CR Forgiveness Lesson. We look forward to meeting you and seeing you at a meeting soon!

Friday, April 19, 2019 – Good Friday

“And he took bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to them, saying, “This is my body given for you; do this in remembrance of me.’ In the same way, after the supper he took the cup, saying, ‘This cup is the new covenant in my blood, which is poured out for you.’”
Luke 22:19-20

We invite you to join us for a very special large group time on Good Friday evening, April 19 when our Celebrate Recovery family will take the Lord’s Supper and recommit our individual lives, hearts, thoughts, and all that we have to the One who took our sin onto Himself, suffered, bled and died so that we might truly live. Remembering Jesus in this way is something that God commands us to do, and we are grateful for the opportunity to share this precious time with our recovery brothers and sisters.

We hope to see you on the 19th and are praying for you in the meantime.

“For His unfailing love for those who fear Him is as great as theheight of the heavens above the earth.  He has removed our rebellious acts as far away from us as the east is from the west.”

Psalm 103:10-12

On Friday evening, January 25, we will hear from Suzanne, a CR participant who struggled with codependency and self-image issues much of her life.  A codependent can be defined as someone who struggles with the compulsion to rescue and take care of others, has difficulty setting boundaries, and often does not recognize his or her own worth.  Please join us on the 25th and learn how God used Celebrate Recovery to move Suzanne from a place of fear to a growing relationship and trust in God with every detail of her life and the lives of those she loves.
