Friday, April 26th, 2019 – Forgiveness

“There is no difference between Jew and Gentile, for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and all are justified freely by His grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus.”

Romans 3:22b-23

In recovery we can put aside our masks once and for all and allow people to get to know the “real us.” We do that by completing CR Principle Six: Evaluate all my relationships. Offer forgiveness to those who have hurt me and make amends for harm I’ve done to others, except when to do so would harm them or others. Forgiveness is clearly God’s prescription for the broken. No matter how dreadful the offense or abuse, along the path to healing lies forgiveness.

We hope you will join us on Friday evening, April 26 when one of our participants will share the CR Forgiveness Lesson. We look forward to meeting you and seeing you at a meeting soon!
Weekly Friday Evening Schedule:
6:00pm – dinner
7:00pm – large group meeting
8:00pm – small open share group meetings (gender & issue specific) 9:00pm – Solid Rock Café (dessert & coffee fellowship)

Friday, April 19, 2019 – Good Friday

“And he took bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to them, saying, “This is my body given for you; do this in remembrance of me.’ In the same way, after the supper he took the cup, saying, ‘This cup is the new covenant in my blood, which is poured out for you.’”
Luke 22:19-20

We invite you to join us for a very special large group time on Good Friday evening, April 19 when our Celebrate Recovery family will take the Lord’s Supper and recommit our individual lives, hearts, thoughts, and all that we have to the One who took our sin onto Himself, suffered, bled and died so that we might truly live. Remembering Jesus in this way is something that God commands us to do, and we are grateful for the opportunity to share this precious time with our recovery brothers and sisters.

We hope to see you on the 19th and are praying for you in the meantime.

Friday April 12, 2019: Lesson 16: Amends

“Blessed are the merciful, for they shall be shown mercy.”

Matthew 5:7

Three of the hardest words in the English language are “I am sorry.”  Most of the time we know who deserves to hear those words from us but finding the courage and the willingness to say them can be very difficult.  On the flip side, we self-righteously expect to hear those same words immediately from others when they’ve harmed us.  We hope you will join us on Friday evening, April 12 when we will share the CR Amends Lesson and begin our study of Principle Six: Evaluate all my relationships.  Offer forgiveness to those who have hurt me and make amends for harm I’ve done to others, except when to do so would harm them or others.

We look forward to meeting you and seeing you at a meeting soon!

Weekly Friday Evening Schedule:

6:00pm – dinner

7:00pm – large group meeting

8:00pm – small open share group meetings (gender & issue specific)

“Dear children, let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth.”

I John 3:18

We hope you will join us for our Celebrate Recovery meeting on Friday evening, October 12 when we will hear a hope-filled CR testimony.  The world can argue with a lot of things in this life, but the one thing they cannot argue with or ignore is a radically changed life.   At CR we are blessed to hear one of these stories every other week.  We hope to see you on the 12th when again we will all be encouraged by a powerful recovery story!

Weekly Friday Evening Schedule:

6:00pm – dinner

7:00pm – large group meeting

8:00pm – small open share group meetings (gender & issue specific)

9:00pm – Solid Rock Café (dessert & coffee fellowship)

Friday March 29, 2019- Lesson 15: Victory

“Being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.”

Philippians 1:6

Join us on Friday evening, March 29 when we will continue our focus on Principle Five: Voluntarily submit to every change God wants to make in my life and humbly ask him to remove my character defects, and we share the CR hope-filled VICTORY lesson.  Once we ask God to remove our character defects, we begin a journey that will lead us to new freedom from our past.  We need to be careful not to look for perfection but instead to rejoice in steady progress.  We need to seek and be satisfied with steady improvement.

See you on the 29th!

Weekly Friday Evening Schedule:

6:00pm – dinner

7:00pm – large group meeting

8:00pm – small open share group meetings (gender & issue specific)

Friday March 22, 2019- Testimony: Jan

“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come:

The old has gone, the new is here!”

2 Corinthians 5:17

We hope you’ll join us on Friday evening March 22nd.  We will hear another Celebrate Recovery testimony of a life that’s been changed by God’s healing power.  CR teaches steps to put our faith into action.  This is real Bible application and we should not be surprised that it works, because God is faithful.

Our weekly schedule:

6pm – dinner

7pm – large group (Chapel)

8pm – small open share groups (issue & gender specific)

9pm – dessert & coffee/Solid Rock Café

***We regret that we cannot offer child care at this time***

Friday March 15, 2019- Lesson 14: Ready

“Commit your way to the Lord; trust in Him and He will do this.”

  Psalm 37:5

Step 6 and CR Principle 5 have been referred to as the step “that separates the men/women from the boys/girls.” One of the reasons Step 6 is so powerful is its assertion that “we were entirely ready to have God remove all these defects of character.” We hope you will join us on Friday evening, March 15, when we will be sharing the Ready Lesson and learn how we can be entirely ready and willing to let God into every area of our life.

This evening is special also because it’s a potluck night and there will be many delicious food offerings at dinner so we hope you will arrive in time for dinner and know you will be blessed by the entire evening’s events. We will meet for dinner and large group in Room 110 which is basically just inside the west entrance of the church. See you on the 15th!

Weekly Friday Evening Schedule:
6:00pm – dinner
7:00pm – large group meeting
8:00pm – small open share group meetings (gender & issue specific)
9:00pm – Solid Rock Café (dessert & coffee fellowship)

I John 3:18

We hope you will join us for our Celebrate Recovery meeting on Friday evening, March 8 when we will hear a hope-filled CR testimony from one of our participants.  The world can argue with a lot of things in this life, but the one thing they cannot argue with or ignore is a radically changed life.   At CR we are blessed to hear one of these stories every other week.  We hope to see you on the 8th when again we will all be encouraged by a powerful CR recovery story!

Friday March, 1 2019- Lesson 13 Admit

“If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.”
I John 1:8.9
“So confess your sins to one another and pray for one another so that you may be HEALED.”
James 5:16

Friday March 1, Celebrate Recovery will consider what we will lose and what we will gain by admitting our secrets and sins to ourselves, God and someone we trust.  We will talk about how to choose a safe person to listen to our 4th step, fearless and searching moral inventory.  We take sin seriously, and we take God’s word seriously.  Together we are pursuing genuine healing as we learn to share our brokenness with one another.

Celebrate Recovery is the best place to be on a Friday night!!

Our weekly schedule:

6pm – dinner

7pm – large group (in the Chapel)

8pm – small open share groups (issue & gender specific)

9pm – dessert & coffee/Solid Rock Café

Friday, February 22, 2019 Lesson 12: Confess

“If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.”

I John 1:9

It has been said that “we are only as sick as our secrets.”  When we share our deepest secrets, we begin to divide the pain and the shame.  A healthy sense of self-worth develops, a self-esteem that’s no longer based on the world’s standards but on the truth of Jesus Christ.  We hope you will join us on Friday evening, February 15 when one of our participants will share the CR Confess lesson.  What secret are you holding on to that needs to be brought out into the light?  Come on the 15th and take a huge step toward wholeness through the healing process of confession.

Weekly Friday Evening Schedule:

6:00pm – dinner (optional) – in room 341

7:00pm – large group meeting- in the chapel

8:00pm – small open share group meetings (gender & issue specific)

9:00pm – dessert & coffee fellowship (suggested)- in room 341
